I am living in a house on a little island, away from any grid or electric source.Solar Panel Inverter battery  So far, I have been living off a 10KW generator and I would like to couple it with a PV system in a “hybrid” fashion as described in Solar Panel Inverter battery  Considering that I would like to be able to draw 2KWh from my battery bank, can anybody give me any advice on the components that I would need to create such a system? You don’t provide enough information to allow me to make a recommendation, although most inverters also provide the functions of a transfer switch. Over what period of time do you want to be able to draw 2KWh (I assume you mean kilowatt-hours) from your battery bank? What is your peak load? What is the solar insolation at your location? Have you done everything you are going to to reduce your electricity usage?Solar Panel Inverter battery

For a $10 donation to your local salvation Army or other charity you can have a copy of my spreadsheet(Excel or Mac) which will allow you to correctly size a solar power system for your site.
