Solar panel without heat Exchanger solar hot water panel output
Question:
solar hot water panel output I have installed a solar hot water panel on my roof which draws the cold water from the bottom of my hot water tank through the panel (where it heats up) and drops it back into the top of the hot water tank. I have a vented gas boiler and a general standard heating system. Do you know of any reason why it would not be possible to return hot water back into a hot water tank – I do have a normal expansion fitted to the tank which returns to the header tank in the loft. Obviously there is not heat exchange involved, the pipework for the system is made of rubber and stopping any problems with expansion and damage from frost/ice etc. Any information on problems I will definately have would be welcome. best regards, solar hot water panel output

solar hot water panel output What do you mean? You don’t want to use a heat transfer coil in the water cylinder? You can do away with it and connect the solar panels directly eliminating the heat transfer coil.solar hot water panel output To do this you need to be in a soft water area with little, or no, scale.solar hot water panel output There is also the problem of the panel freezing in winter. You may need auto draining of the panels, but a mechanism to prevent the cylinder draining.
